Forty years ago, Jim Deagle established Candlelite Builders as one of the leading home building firms in the Columbus, Ohio area. Gradually, Candlelite diversified into commercial construction and land development, and its customer base expanded throughout central and western Ohio. Jim served as president of the Columbus Home Builders Association in 1967.

In 1972, Gary Anderson left the architectural and engineering firm of Lorenz and Williams to create a design-build firm called Anderson Resources Inc. He joined the Home Builders Association of the Miami Valley in 1972 and became registered as an AIBD professional designer in 1980. As a member of the Associated Builders and Contractors, the firm designed, developed and built commercial structures such as banks, dental clinics, shopping centers and office buildings. Designer homes balanced the firm's portfolio and soon moved to the forefront of Anderson Resources' core development interest.

A new era began in 1985 when Gary and Jim partnered to develop communities for residents 55 and older in north Dayton. Today, you will find Candlelite Homes, a division of Anderson Resources, designing and building semi-custom to custom luxury homes. Gary was the 2001 President of the Home Builders of the Miami Valley.  He is past Chairman of the Registered Builder Committee, and is President of Anderson Resources.

"Where Quality Meets Value" summarizes Candlelite's mission statement. The firm has received two City Beautiful awards in recognition of the excellence in building and development that the firm brings to the Dayton area. Candlelite requires three of its design professionals to co-design each and every one of its homes. Their goal is to build housing that lasts a lifetime.

Bent Tree and Channingway apartments have been developed as lifestyle communities that stand apart from the rest. The Reserves of Channingway are luxury apartments in a gated community. These communities are packed with amenities that provide the ultimate in service to residents.
